Guide Dogs for the Blind National Walk Day
This is the first year that Drogheda Rotary assisted with this excellent event held by the banks of the Boyne on Sunday 15th July 2012. The main local organiser is Margaret Dagg who is also involved in the Meals on Wheels Project.

Annual Rotary Golf Classic
Friday 12th July at Baltray proved a great success, the weather was good, 32 teams played & over €10,000 is expected to be raised for local Drogheda charities in particular Meals on Wheels. A big thanks to the organising committee, which included; Donagh O'Brien, Emmet Humphreys & Julian Grant

Families grateful for ShelterBox Solution in Japan
Update - 24-Mar-11. In Japan the displaced are concerned about the long wait ahead before the completion of government temporary housing and are relieved and grateful for the solution that ShelterBoxes are providing. In this season freezing winds blow across the coastlines and the opportunity to remain near their homes yet avoid discomfort is being gratefully seized by the affected families.

Rotary already supplying support and Shelterboxes in Japan
18/03/2011 Update :- 1000 Shelterboxes in place in Japan and on the way and 5000 more ready to be shipped in the coming days. On Friday 9-Mar-2011 Rotary International had an International Support Response Team enroute to North Eastern Japan to coordinate the delivery of Shelterboxes to this remote region which has been devastated by a major tsunami. Shelter has been highlighted by the Japanese Government as the highest priority as it is winter in the region which is experiencing harsh winter weather conditions.
